Paddle La Jolla’s Ecological Reserve in a clear bottom kayak!  Explore the underwater world with Ocean Kayak’s Peekaboo kayak.

What better way to view the rocky reefs in La Jolla, filledwith Garibaldi, leopard sharks, shovelnose guitarfish, halibut, spiny lobster & sea lions!  Simply take a peek right through the bottom of your kayak to check out the local marine life!  

Clear bottom kayak tours & rentals are a great alternative for those who don’t want to get wet or go snorkeling!  These clear bottom kayaks are just as stable as our regular kayaks and are great for paddling along the the La JollaCaves.  Clear bottom single kayaks are available for rent daily for $45 for 2 hours; or, take a clear bottom kayak tour to La Jolla’s seven caves!  Clear bottom single kayak tours are $70 per person. 

Paddle amidst the sandy flats ecosystem to check out the amazing leopard sharks, just by peering through the clear bottom of your kayak!  These clear bottom kayaks make viewing these speedy leopard sharks easier, since the leopard sharks tend to move around rapidly.  Catch the leopard sharks swimming underneath your kayak by taking a look through the clear bottom as they swim underneath your boat!

What to Bring: Parking is limited, so we would advise you to arrive at the beach early to find parking and snag a spot.  The clear bottom kayaks provide excellent photo opportunities, so bring a camera.  Bring a bathing suit, towel and change for clothes.  We have lockers and changing rooms available free of charge.

Details:  All kayakers will receive their clear bottom kayak, life jacket, paddle, safety instruction, and glow sticks. Limited lockers, and changing rooms are available; however, it's best if participants come dressed and ready to go.  This event is an adult adventure; however, children over the age of six are also welcome to join.  General swimming knowledge is required for all paddlers.
