Paddle La Jolla’s Ecological Reserve in a clear bottomkayak!  Explore the underwater world with Ocean Kayak’s Peekaboo kayak.

What better way to view the rocky reefs in La Jolla, filledwith Garibaldi, leopard sharks, shovelnose guitarfish, halibut, spiny lobster& sea lions!  Simply take apeek right through the bottom of your kayak to check out the local marine life!  

Clear bottom kayak tours & rentals are a greatalternative for those who don’t want to get wet or go snorkeling!  These clear bottom kayaks are just asstable as our regular kayaks and are great for paddling along the the La JollaCaves.  Clear bottom single kayaks are available for rent daily for$45 for 2 hours; or, take a clear bottom kayak tour to La Jolla’s sevencaves!  Clear bottom single kayaktours are $70 per person. 

Paddle amidst the sandy flats ecosystem to check out theamazing leopard sharks, just by peering through the clear bottom of yourkayak!  These clear bottom kayaksmake viewing these speedy leopard sharks easier, since the leopard sharks tendto move around rapidly.  Catch theleopard sharks swimming underneath your kayak by taking a look through theclear bottom as they swim underneath your boat!

What to Bring: Parking is limited, so we would advise you to arrive at the beach early to find parking and snag a spot.  The clear bottom kayaks provide excellent photo opportunities, so bring a camera.  Bring a bathing suit, towel and change for clothes.  We have lockers and changing rooms available free of charge.

Details:  All kayakers will receive their clear bottom kayak, life jacket, paddle, safety instruction, and glow sticks. Limited lockers, and changing rooms are available; however, it's best if participants come dressed and ready to go.  This event is an adult adventure; however, children over the age of six are also welcome to join.  General swimming knowledge is required for all paddlers.
