Encounter leopard sharks up close with our kayak/snorkel tour! These harmless sharks venture into the shallow waters of La Jolla Shores annually to spawn. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to snorkel with these magnificent creatures, as these leopard sharks only are visible for about five months each year (usually June-Nov.) Snorkel with the leopard sharks in just a few feet of water, and take the Kayak Tour to La Jolla's caves!
Snorkeling in La Jolla is made easy by taking snorkel gear aboard the kayaks. Kayak over to the south end of the La Jolla Shores, where you'll strap on snorkeling gear and snorkel with these amazing leopard sharks. The leopard sharks are totally harmless and are bottom-feeders, so they stay on the ocean floor. While snorkeling, tour participants may even see some of the Shovelnose Guitarfish.

La Jolla Shores: Swim with the Leopard Sharks
After snorkeling in the sandy flats, the tour will then resume kayaking and paddle to the caves in La Jolla. Kayak to the caves, where you'll snorkel 
again along the caves with garibaldi, the California state fish. The Garibaldi are plentiful in these waters and are easy to see due to their bright orange color. Then, kayak out to the kelp beds, just west of La Jolla Cove. The kelp beds are part of the Underwater Ecological Reserve and harbor a variety of sea life, such as seals, sea lions, as well as an abundance of fish and crustaceans. From the kelp beds, the tour will make their way back to the shore and ride the waves in.
