The Maritime Museum : a historic San Diego Tour

The historical ships include The Star of India, the 1898 steam ferry Berkeley; the 1904 steam yacht Medea; the 1914 harbor Pilot boat; the HMS Surprise and the Californian.  The ships can be seen during a nice walk along the Embarcadero, or tickets are available to board this historic museum.

The Maritime Museum of San Diego is great voyage for the family.  The museum combines fascinating exhibits for the adults, and interactive exhibits for the kids.  We do offer packages with The Maritime Museum, as an optional addition to our Coronado Bike Tour, or any of our other adventure tours.

The Star of India- the worlds oldest iron ship
The Star of India began her life on in 1863, and is one the oldest active ships in the world. This iron ship was more of an experiment back then, as most ships were built of wood.  She survived two near disastrous voyages to India, and navigated between California, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, England, Ireland and of course India.

We hope to share the San Diego Embarcadero area with you, and hope you have a fun filled day along the port side of our San Diego harbor.  The mile long walk is home to the USS Midway, Sea Port Village, Cruise Ship Terminal, and of course the Maritime Museum.
