The La Jolla Cove is hands-down, the best location for snorkeling in San Diego. The water is very calm, suitable for children and beginners. Undersea life is abundant and very close to shore; however, if you want to extend your san diego snorkeling experience you can always continue using the gear 
after the tour.
Swim with the leopard sharks up close and personal with our kayak/snorkel tour! The leopard sharks only come out for about six months each year during their spawning season (usually June – Nov.). Take advantage of this rare snorkeling opportunity to see these amazing creatures in just a few feet of water on our snorkel tour, or on your own with rentals.

Self Guided Snorkel Tours - La Jolla Snorkeling
The easy way to snorkel is with a kayak rental. Just follow our comlimentary water map! La Jolla kayak rentals are avaliable for snorkeling use as well. Kayak to the La Jolla Cove and the La Jolla Caves, hop in the water at your leisure to swim, and snorkel along with the fish. Snorkel around the caves with the bright orange Garibaldi ( California State Fish). The kelp beds are part of the Underwater Ecological Reserve and tour participants will enjoy swimming with and snorkeling amidst this kelp forest!
Snorkeling rentals: (includes: mask, snorkel, fins, & wetsuit)
We offer snorkel rentals to experienced snorkelers. You can rent one of our stable sit-on-top kayaks for 2 hours and add the snorkel gear for an extra $20. Snorkel exuipment is available Separately as well. The mask & snorkel is $7, fins are $7 seperatlely, and the wetsuits are $10. For the best experience, arrive early and find a little nook on the beach to lay your towels and gear. Snorkeling gear rentals are available at our store 7 days a week. Snorkeling in easy, and fun for all ages!.
